Meet The Doctors
Our doctors have completed advanced continuing education training in all phases of dentistry. This includes but is not limited to implant placement and restoration, Invisalign invisible braces, porcelain veneers, dentures, and cosmetic treatments. Both doctors are members of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.
Stefan Schumer, DDS
Dr. Stefan Schumer is a third-generation dentist who is proud to be continuing his family legacy of providing Elk Grove Village and the surrounding communities with high quality dental care in a family-oriented setting. Dr. Stefan has a friendly demeanor that sooths patient anxiety and makes dental visits a happy and lighthearted experience.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from Indiana University, Dr. Stefan taught high school physics at Waukegan High School before attending Midwestern University in Downer’s Grove to complete his Doctorate in Medical Dentistry. Dr. Stefan utilizes his nutritional and teaching backgrounds to help patients understand their dental needs and allow them to choose customized dental treatment that is best suited for them.
When not in the office, Dr. Stefan enjoys spending time with his wife Alyssa, their son Skyler, and Lola, their playful Corgi. Together they love to cook, travel, and enjoy being in nature. Additionally, Dr. Stefan is a huge sports fan and is always cheering on all his favorite teams. Dr. Stefan looks forward to meeting you and taking care of all your dental needs.
Preshita Patel, DMD
Dr. Patel is originally from Nairobi, Kenya. She graduated from the University Nairobi in 2012 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree. She worked at a private practice and a government hospital in Baringo county and then transitioned into her own private practice in Nairobi as a general dentist. She also volunteered for several organizations during her tenure in Kenya including outreach programs for the NUDSA, KDA and Orphanages. She was also part of the Board Members of the Nairobi University Dental School association and Student Organization of Nairobi University.
In 2018 Dr. Patel moved to the USA after getting married to her husband and continued her education to become a dentist in the United States. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry where she graduated with honors in 2022. While in dental school, Dr. Patel was awarded the Dr Tillman Miller Clinical Achievement Award, Dental Lifeline Network Outstanding Student Award for comprehensive care for patients with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile, International Dentist Program Class Leadership Award and is part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society. Dr. Patel is passionate about dentistry and is dedicated to taking care of her patients and providing the best care possible.
Dr. Patel is fluent in English, Gujarati, Kiswahili, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling the world with her husband and baby.
